Let My Life Your Gospel Say

I thought that in the silence sadness steals
the joy of truth gives way to feels,
but truth be told it's all a lie,
the silence isn't why I cry.

The sadness is what steals my joy,
when in it there my thoughts employ.
But simple truth I sing today,
uplifting thoughts and words I pray.

This life this side is just a vapor,
fades away like words on paper.
But truth is truth and never changing,
it is this life needs rearranging.

Conform me not to worldly wants,
I stand forgiven of bygone haunts.
Conform me to your image Lord,
not by mine but by your word.

Make me who I never was,
in this growth let not me pause.
Restore us Lord if be your will,
but not at cost of being still.

Be still and know that you are God,
and let me with your armor shod,
create in me a spirit fervent,
to your word a faithful servant.

Not looking back at what's behind,
but pressing on with renewed mind.
Let not my losses keep me here,
but on the lost for them I fear.

I thank you Lord for where I'm brought,
with your blood my soul you bought.
And though I've stumbled and I've fell,
you knew before and loved me still.

And though that love I can't repay,
let my life your gospel say!
